Nick Kyrgios is making his way out now, but stopped for a brief chat in the bowels of Arthur Ashe Stadium.
“I feel great, obviously the spark and the energy that New York provides keeps you going for a while,” he said on his walk out to the court.
“Super excited to have another chance to play on the best court in the world.”
It’s the third meeting between the two, with the ledger squared at one each.
“He’s obviously a great athlete at 6’6”, amazing serve, great forehand, solid backhand – amazing all-round player, really,” Kyrgios said.
“I’ve just got to focus on my game; serve big and play big, that’s been the moral of my whole career. Live and die by the sword, that’s my motto.”
