Sunrisers Hyderabad have the biggest purse ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. They have a purse remaining of 42.25 crores which they need to buy 13 players out of which four are overseas. The franchise retained 12 players and even released Kane Williamson who was their former skipper.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have a tough job on their hands of identifying the kind of players they would need to win the IPL title for the second time. The IPL 2023 retentions took place and all the teams announced their lists of released and retained players ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction. 163 players were retained by the 10 franchises while 85 players were released from their current squads.

The Jammu & Kashmir cricketer entered the IPL with the reputation of being a power-hitter. However, in the matches that he has played so far, there were not too many examples of the same. Had he been released, not too many franchises would have bought him given that he is still an unknown commodity in IPL cricket.
