Stricter rules for China’s courier industry that stipulate that delivery workers are banned from putting parcels in end-of-service facilities without user consent have fueled riders’ anger as they claim the new measures will lengthen their work hours. While the new rules have been broadly welcomed by consumers, a number of couriers have complained about the increased costs of delivering every parcel to shoppers’ doors rather than placing them in locally-based storage facilities.
