The client
Tracey had been in her role for 14 years, working from home full time as she raised her son. As her son got older and the company she worked for seemed less secure, she decided to dust off her CV and see what else was available.
The problem
Tracey had worked in corporate roles for 25 years and in accounts for 14. Having recently started an interior design course, she decided to aim for a career change – but had no relevant experience. She also wanted to transition from working at home to a hybrid role and needed something flexible enough that she could still look after her dog during the day.
The solution
We created a CV that showed off her love of interiors and textiles whilst also ensuring that everything she’d achieved in her latest role came across strongly. The new CV positioned her as an Accounts Manager with a background and interest in interior design. The layout was updated and brought in line with current best practice, and we added a line about the interiors course she was working on.
The result
Tracey was soon contacted by a recruiter asking her to apply for a role that ticked all of her boxes. She was offered a position working in accounts at an interior design company in London and was the Director’s preferred candidate due to her interest in interiors coming through strongly on the CV. She was able to negotiate one day a week working from home and is able to take her dog to London for her in-office days. Despite not actively looking for a new job and only sending her CV to one recruiter, Tracey was offered her new job less than 3 months after we created her new CV.
