According to India Today, Anika had gone to her room the previous night and failed to respond to calls or knocks afterward. In concern of silence, her friends broke open the room door and found her unconscious. The police confirmed that the room was locked from the inside, and no suspicious items were found.

Body Sent For Post-Mortem

Authorities noted that Anika’s clothing was intact and there were no visible injuries on her body. Her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death, with the report expected to provide critical information regarding the circumstances of her passing.

So far, the police have not received any formal complaint from the family. Further actions will be based on the results of the post-mortem report.

According to Republic World, Dr. Shashank Shekhar, a spokesperson for the law university, mentioned that it appears Anika may have died of a cardiac arrest. He described her as a bright student who always sat in the front row in class. The Lucknow Commissioner visited the scene late at night, and the investigation is ongoing.
