Colombia returned to World Cup Qualifying on Saturday and were expected to win against Peru, but they could only manage a 1-1 draw.
At the Copa America, they were one of the best teams in the tournament and won four out of five games on their way to the final before they suffered defeat at the hands of Argentina.
Their run to the final included impressive 5-0 and 3-0 wins over Panama and Costa Rica respectively.

Two key players at the back are missing for Colombia in David Ospina and Davinson Sanchez, who are both injured.
Jhon Cordoba started instead of his namesake Jhon Duran versus Peru, but the latter replaced the former in that one so Duran could start here.
James Rodriguez is in line to start after coming off the bench on Saturday.
Argentina recent form
Copa America champions Argentina returned to competitive action over the weekend when they easily dispatched of Chile thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Julian Alvarez and Paulo Dybala.
Including their route to the Copa America Final and World Cup Qualifying, they are on a run of eight games without defeat, with seven of those matches ending in victory.
Argentina injury news
Argentina are still without Lionel Messi as he hasn’t played since the final of the Copa America when he was forced off with an ankle injury.
Nicolas Tagliafico, Leonardo Balerdi and Exequiel Palacios are also out injured.
Veteran winger Angel Di Maria retired from international football in the summer.

Luis Diaz has made a blistering start to the new season and has four goals and an assist in his last three games, including one against Peru on Saturday.

The Copa America final was an extremely tight affair and hopefully with less pressure on the players we’ll see a much more entertaining game between the nations this time around.
Two of the last four games between the teams have ended in a draw, with Argentina winning the other two. Colombia have the home advantage here.
