Yashasvi Jaiswal predicted to smash 40 Test tons as Australia superstar warns teammates of ‘scary BGT’

As Australian cricket fans are set to witness fierce competition in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, one young Indian talent has already fascinated the cricket world with his impeccable technique and maturity, and he is none other than Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The 22-year-old Indian opener has quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Test cricket, and Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell feels the latter’s potential is limitless. Maxwell has lauded Jaiswal for his remarkable adaptability and near-flawless technique.

The Australian all-rounder further went on to predict that the young Indian prodigy will score over 40 Test centuries and break numerous records in the years to come. Yashasvi Jaiswal has impressed one and all with his explosive strokeplay and his ability to handle the pressure and world-class bowling attack in different playing conditions.

Glenn Maxwell has noted the left-handed batter’s game is far from one-dimensional. The Australian all-rounder further mentioned that Yashasvi’s flashy drives, powerful strokes, and the composed manner in which he handles every aspect of his game make him different from others.

His ability to leave balls with precision, his crisp footwork, and his exceptional judgment against both pace and spin are qualities that will help the young Indian opener dominate Test cricket for years.

Glenn Maxwell believes that Jaiswal’s calmness under pressure and his temperament make him a dangerous player, and Australia will need to find ways to keep him silent in the upcoming Test matches.

Maxwell warns Australia about Jaiswal threat

In his first Test match in Australia, Yashasvi Jaiswal made a lasting impact with a stunning 161 in the second innings, leading India to a dominating 295-run victory over Australia in the five-match Test series opener at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

This remarkable knock in Perth was his fourth century in just 15 Test matches, with each of those centuries surpassing the 150-run mark. Jaiswal has already amassed 1,568 runs at an exceptional average of 58.07 so far in Test cricket, which highlights his resilience and class.

After his stunning century in his first-ever game in Australia, Maxwell said that Yashasvi Jaiswal is another cricketing legend in the making, and if Australia can’t find a way to stop him, then things will be scary for the hosts in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal will probably get more than 40 Test hundreds: Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell said on ‘The Grade Cricketer’ podcast: “He’s a guy that will probably get more than 40 Test hundreds and write some different records. He’s got a great ability to adapt to different conditions. He played a lot of shots that will be on highlight packages, but the stuff he did in between… the balls he left, the balls he got in behind… his footwork is pretty crisp; he doesn’t seem to have many weaknesses.

Plays the short ball well, drives well, plays spin unbelievably well, and can absorb pressure for periods of time. It’s going to be scary if Australia can’t find a way to stop him over the next few games.”
