(ECNS) — The China-Europe freight train from Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province, has expanded its route to reach the northernmost region of Kazakhstan, further promoting high-level international trade.

Carrying 62 containers of wheat flour, the train recently returned to Alashankou Port in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and is expected to arrive in Wuhan in three days.

Upon arrival, the wheat flour will be distributed across Hubei Province and processed into fodder for sale. The opening of this new route offers a reliable and efficient raw material transport channel for grain production enterprises in Hubei.

This marks the fourth grain transportation route in Central Asia launched by Hubei Province. The return trains primarily carry barley, linseed, and wheat bran pellets from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

In recent years, Hubei has strengthened its economic and trade ties with Central Asian countries, with local products such as textiles, electronics, and vehicles being exported to Central Asian markets via the China-Europe freight trains.

So far, Wuhan has opened five new China-Europe freight train routes this year, totaling the city’s cross-border transport lines to 57. These routes connect 40 countries and 119 cities and regions, building an increasingly integrated logistics network linking domestic and overseas markets.
