Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has accused the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments at the State and Central levels, respectively, of filing false cases against her and her brother K.T. Rama Rao as part of political vendetta.

Claiming that these ruling parties lacks the courage to confront her father K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), she asserted that these tactics would not intimidate KCR’s children and BRS leaders.

Speaking at a public meeting in Nizamabad on Sunday (December 29, 2024), Ms. Kavitha alleged that the Congress government has been filing false cases against the BRS leaders, even for making critical posts on social media. She accused both the State and the Central Governments of misrule and failing to address the needs of the people.

Ms. Kavitha also took a dig at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging that he has failed to fulfil the promises made to farmers, women and minorities. She highlighted several unfulfilled commitments of the Congress government, including increasing pensions and providing adequate support to minorities. She criticised the lack of progress in distributing scooters to college-going girls and accused the government of depriving women of financial assistance promised under schemes such as Kalyana Lakshmi.

The MLC urged the public to question the Congress government’s policies and resist its alleged indifference to public welfare. She accused the government of implementing ‘Congress-friendly policing’ in stead of ‘people friendly policing’ and ignoring the needs of the people. “If we remain silent, the government will not act. Everyone should question it,” she said.

Reaffirming the leadership of KCR and the BRS, Ms. Kavitha said, “We are the ones who fought for and achieved Statehood. We will stand strong and fight for the people.” She expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the upcoming local elections, predicting the rise of the “pink flag” of the BRS.

Ms. Kavitha further accused the Congress government of undermining Telangana’s cultural identity, stating, “A Congress Mata statue has been installed in place of Telangana Talli. We need our Telangana Talli.”

Party leaders, including MP (Rajya Sabha) K.R. Suresh Reddy, former MLAs Bajireddy Goverdhan, Asannagari Jeevan Reddy and others were present at the event.
