James Woods’ L.A. home ‘still standing’ after being told it burned down in wildfire

Actor James Woods was told his home burnt down in the deadly wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, only to later learn his property was spared.

The two-time Oscar nominee, 77, shared news of the “miracle” on social media Friday.

“We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing,” Woods captioned a video of the surrounding neighborhoods reduced to rubble.

“In this hellish landscape, ‘standing’ is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us,” he added.

Earlier this week, Woods got emotional when speaking to CNN about the reported loss of his Pacific Palisades home.

“One day you’re swimming in the pool, and the next it’s all gone,” he said.

Over 12,000 homes, businesses and other structures have been destroyed, with over 38,000 acres consumed by the blazes. So far, 11 people have been confirmed dead, though fire officials tragically expect that number to rise.

Civilians and celebrities alike have had their lives upended by the fires, including Paris Hilton, who watched her Malibu beach house burn to the ground on live TV. Billy Crystal and his wife lost their home of nearly 50 years, while Jeff Bridges lost a property that had been in his family for generations. Anthony Hopkins, Eugene Levy, Anna Faris, Adam Brody and Leigton Meester are also among the growing number of famous faces whose homes were destroyed.
