Out-of-Control Truck Collides With Sleeper Coach Bus In UP’s Bulandshahr, 17 Injured

Almost 17 people were injured after a sleeper coach bus travelling from Rampur to Jaipur collided with an out-of-control truck at Mahadev Chauraha on NH-509 in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The truck lost its control while trying to avoid a car.

All the injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. After initial treatment, 8 seriously injured individuals were referred to a higher centre for better medical care. The entire incident of the truck colliding with the sleeper coach bus was captured on CCTV.

According to a report by NBT, the accident occurred late at night on Sunday at Mahadev Chauraha under Dibai police station on NH-509. Locals informed that the truck driver swerved in the wrong direction while trying to save the car, leading to the horrific accident.

Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot. The bus’s driver, who was trapped, was rescued by cutting the window.
Further, the police conducted the rescue operation under the supervision of the SDM Dibai. And, the police cleared the damaged vehicles from the road and restored traffic.

The incident has sparked debates about road safety and adherence to traffic rules. The police have begun a detailed investigation into the incident.

In a separate incident on January 17, four passengers died and several others suffered injuries in a road accident on the outskirts of Chittoor town on Friday. The mishap occurred reportedly when the bus was hit by a truck, which later led the passenger vehicle to overturn and hit an electric pole. The injured were immediately shifted to CMC Hospital in Vellore.

According to Srinivas Rao (Inspector), Chittoor East Circle police station, “The travel bus overturned after colliding with a lorry on the Chittoor-Thatchur Highway. The bus was en route from Tirupati to Trichy when the accident happened in the early hours. The injured were shifted to Chittoor District Hospital.
