IND vs ENG 2nd ODI: Rohit, Shubman Dazzle As India Steamroll England To Clinch Series 2-0


IND vs ENG 2nd ODI highlights: A captain’s knock from Rohit Sharma (119 off 90 balls) and a gritty 60 off 52 balls from Shubman Gill powered India to a thumping four-wicket victory over England in the second ODI at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, on Sunday (February 9). With this win, India clinched the three-match IND vs ENG ODI series 2-0, sealing the contest with a game to spare. Earlier, India won the series opener in Nagpur by 4 wickets.

England set a target of 305 runs after being bowled out for 304 in the final over. Joe Root (69) and Ben Duckett (65) led the scoring, while Liam Livingstone (41 off 32) provided late fireworks.

For India, premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets, while Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, and Varun Chakravarthy took one wicket each.

Openers Phil Salt (26) and Ben Duckett (65) stitched an 81-run partnership before Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Salt. Jadeja later removed Duckett, who hit 10 fours in his 56-ball knock.

England’s middle-order showed resistance with Joe Root (69) and Harry Brook (31) building a crucial partnership before Harshit Rana sent Brook back. Jos Buttler (29) was caught by Shubman Gill off Hardik Pandya’s bowling.

After Root’s well-paced 69 off 72 balls, England’s lower-order collapsed as Ravindra Jadeja struck again to dismiss Jamie Overton (6) and Gus Atkinson (3). Adil Rashid (14 off 5) played a quick cameo.

Liam Livingstone helped England post a competetive total as he smashed 41 off 32 balls, including 2 sixes and 2 fours, before being run out, ensuring England crossed the 300-run mark.
