Written, designed and directed by famend theatre maker Ganesh Mandarthi, in response to the synopsis, the play is each a mythological and social drama, intertwining two tales. One is the mythological saga of Shiva. The second story is of a personality resonating with Shiva’s depth, who emerges as a revolutionary experiencing the anguish of misplaced love. The synopsis by the troupe says that the play additionally talks about feminine characters difficult societal norms and male ego, striving to transcend boundaries, whether or not in triumph or defeat.
On the inspiration behind Shivoham, Ganesh Mandarthi stated that Shiva has been a main deity within the land, and he needed to create a piece impressed by him. “When Shiva loses his spouse Dakshayani, he turns depressing. I needed to indicate the aspect of Shiva the place a pacesetter of the backward neighborhood, a Yogi, and a deity of the land turns inconsolable. Elaborating on how the mythological and social narratives are intertwined within the play, Mandarthi stated, “Bhasmasura-Mohini, Rasaleele’s Shiva and the encounter of Chandala and Shankaracharya are the three tales we have now taken up on this play. In Bhasmasura Mohini, we speak about Pravati and the way Vishnu took the type of Mohini to distract the demon Bhasmasura. Within the second, Shiva turns into a girl to bounce on the Yamuna river.
