Former Congress MLA from Bilaspur, Bamber Thakur, was shot at by unidentified assailants at his residence on Friday, police mentioned. Thakur and his private safety officer (PSO) sustained accidents within the assault, following which they have been rushed to hospitals for remedy.  

In keeping with police, the attackers fired practically 12 rounds of bullets. Thakur was instantly referred to Indira Gandhi Medical School in Shimla, whereas his PSO was taken to AIIMS Bilaspur, officers mentioned, as per information company PTI.  

This isn’t the primary assault on the Congress chief. In February 2024, Thakur was assaulted in Jabali after an argument with some people inside a railway line development workplace. He had sustained severe accidents in that incident, and police had rounded up a number of suspects for questioning on the time.  

Police have registered a case and launched a probe into the matter. Additional particulars are awaited.
