A person recognized as Wahidur Rahman Jainullabudeen was taken into custody below the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act (PMLA) from Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district on Thursday, the sources stated. The Enforcement Directorate made the arrest after conducting searches at his residence. Jainullabudeen has been dropped at Delhi and is predicted to be produced earlier than a particular PMLA courtroom on Friday.
Contemporary raids had been carried out by the ED on Thursday in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Kerala.
In Kerala, the company carried out a search on the residence of Nishad, a former divisional secretary of the banned Well-liked Entrance of India, in Vazhoor, Kottayam district. Searching for Faizy’s remand earlier this week, the ED advised the courtroom that the PFI and the SDPI had been “organically” linked, asserting that the latter was nothing greater than the “political entrance” of the previous, “funded and managed” by it.
The company claimed it had proof of a “deep-rooted” nexus between the 2 organisations, pointing to “overlapping” membership of their cadres, the involvement of PFI office-bearers within the founding of the SDPI, and the utilisation of one another’s property.
