The Gujarat Excessive Court docket on Friday prolonged interim bail for self-styled godman and rape convict Asaram Bapu by one other three months on medical grounds.

The 86-year-old godman, who was convicted in a 2013 rape case by a periods courtroom in 2023 and is serving a life sentence, was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court docket on medical grounds till March 31. As his return to jail was due, the Gujarat Excessive Court docket has now prolonged his short-term bail till June 30.
