NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh authorities, led by CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday issued strict directives to close down unlawful slaughterhouse and implement a ban on meat gross sales inside a 500-meter radius of non secular websites throughout Navratri.
Amrit Abhijat, principal secretary of the city growth division, has instructed all District Magistrates, Police Commissioners, and Municipal Commissioners to make sure strict compliance with the order.
Moreover, an entire ban on animal slaughter and meat gross sales shall be enforced throughout the state on April 6, 2025, in observance of Ram Navami.
The federal government has warned of strict motion towards violators underneath the UP Municipal Company Act, 1959, and the Meals Security Acts of 2006 and 2011.
In the meantime, CM Yogi has introduced grand celebrations for Chaitra Ram Navami, a significant Hindu pageant. He has directed officers to organise a 24-hour Akhand Paath (steady recitation) of Shri Ramcharitmanas in temples throughout all districts of Uttar Pradesh.
“CM Yogi Adityanath has given directions to prepare a 24-hour Akhand Paath of Shri Ramcharitmanas in all of the districts on the auspicious event of Chaitra Ramnavami,” acknowledged the Chief Minister’s Workplace.
The directives are a part of the state authorities’s efforts to control meat gross sales and uphold spiritual sentiments whereas guaranteeing adherence to current legal guidelines.
