Eleven 11 militia members of the Galikonda Space Committee of the banned CPI (Maoist) surrendered earlier than Alluri Sitharama Raju district Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar right here on Saturday.

As many as 39 felony instances had earlier been registered in opposition to them, the police stated.

The surrendered militia members have been Vanthala Bhaskar Rao (24), Tambeli Subba Rao (33), Korra Krishna (20), Gemmili Pentayya (40), and 7 others, all from G.Ok. Veedhi space.

Mr. Bardar stated the militia members surrendered as they have been vexed with the “outdated ideology” of the Maoist social gathering. They have been attracted by the event programmes of the State authorities and the district police beneath the group policing initiative, he added.

Mr. Bardar referred to as upon the Maoists to surrender arms and be part of the mainstream, and benefit from the federal government’s welfare schemes and amenities to guide a cheerful life with their households.

He stated steps could be taken to make sure that all concessions from the federal government got to the surrendered Maoists in time.
