After receiving a second summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Robert Vadra accused central businesses of being misused. Calling the ED’s actions a “witch hunt” and a case of “political vendetta,” Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi—went to the ED workplace on Tuesday for questioning in reference to the company’s money-laundering investigation associated to the Shikhopur land deal.

Vadra had earlier skipped the preliminary summons issued on April 8. The ED is probing alleged monetary misconduct involving his agency, Skylight Hospitality. In line with the company, Vadra’s firm bought a 3.5-acre plot in Gurgaon’s Shikhopur from Omkareshwar Properties for ₹7.5 crore in February 2008 and later offered it to actual property big DLF for ₹58 crore. The ED suspects the transaction could also be linked to a money-laundering operation.
