Maharashtra minister Yogesh Kadam on Saturday stated 5,000 Pakistani nationals are residing within the state, together with 1000 on brief time period visas, who’ve been requested to depart the nation as per the Centre’s directives.

Some are residing in India because the final 8-10 years, some are married and a few are those that have surrendered their Pakistani passport and utilized for Indian citizenship, he stated.

“In line with my estimate there might be 4,000 long run visas of which 1,000 are the Saarc visa, those that have come to the state for movie work, medical floor, journalism, private work,” Kadam stated.

Those with short-term visas have been requested to depart by April 27, whereas these with medical visas have been given two extra days to depart, Kadam stated.

Following the horrific Pahalgam terror assault on April 22, by which 26 individuals had been killed, the Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) introduced that each one present legitimate visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with impact from April 27, whereas medical visas issued to them will likely be legitimate solely until April 29.
