A 32-year-old member of the crew filming Kannada film Kantara-2 allegedly drowned in Souparnika river in Kollur in Udupi district of Karnataka on Might 6.

Kollur police gave the identify of the deceased as M.F. Kapil, a local of Kottayam in Kerala.

The police stated, after lunch, Kapil went to the river the place he was caught within the cross currents. Locals rescued him from the water, however Kapil died later.
