Jammu: All academic establishments in 5 border districts of the Jammu will stay closed on Wednesday within the wake of prevailing scenario within the area, officers mentioned. In retaliation for the Pahalgam terror assault, Indian armed forces early Wednesday carried out missile strikes on 9 terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, together with the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke.

“In view of the prevailing scenario, all colleges, schools and academic establishments in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch will stay closed at this time,” Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar mentioned on X.In line with defence sources, three civilians have been killed in indiscriminate firing and shelling by the Pakistan army throughout the Line of Management and Worldwide Border in Jammu and Kashmir final evening.

The army strikes have been carried out below ‘Operation Sindoor’, two weeks after the bloodbath of 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
