The flight that departed round 6 a.m. from the Chennai airport flew for some time and returned to the airport at 8.30 a.m. There have been practically 200 passengers on board the plane and so they have been knowledgeable that ‘because of airspace tensions over Center East’, the flight is getting again to Chennai.
Sources in Airports Authority of India (AAI) stated the flight returned because of ‘airspace closure in Iran’.
After refuelling, the British Airways flight to London left Chennai airport round 11.30 a.m., sources added.
