Central armed forces, airport companies maintain mock drill close to Chennai after crash


Within the wake of the latest Ahmedabad airplane crash, the Central Industrial Safety Drive (CISF) and Airport Emergency Companies collectively carried out a large-scale emergency mock train on Saturday close to Parangimalai, adjoining to the Chennai Airport. The drill was carried out to check and improve catastrophe preparedness.

The simulation featured a mannequin aeroplane in a crashed state, set ablaze to duplicate a real-time emergency. Groups from the CISF, Fireplace and Rescue Companies, Police, Airport Authorities, Medical Models, Intelligence, and the Nationwide Catastrophe Response Drive (NDRF) actively participated within the train.

The drill aimed to make sure swift, coordinated responses to aviation disasters and minimise lack of life in such conditions. As a part of the train, personnel demonstrated the evacuation of passengers, institution of safe zones, fire-fighting operations, medical response to the injured, and administration of the general scenario by regulation enforcement.

Visitors police labored to clear routes for ambulances to make sure fast transport of victims to hospitals.

Airport Director CV Deepak stated that the Ministry of Civil Aviation had issued instructions to all airports to conduct emergency drills following the Ahmedabad incident. “Whereas emergency drills are frequently held inside airport premises, this explicit train was designed to check preparedness for incidents occurring 2 to three km outdoors the airport,” stated Deepak.

He confirmed that the mock drill was executed efficiently with help from the State Authorities, Officers Coaching Academy, NDRF, Medical Companies, Visitors Police, and CISF. “We’ll evaluate the observers’ reviews and implement mandatory enhancements,” he added.
