
The police stated Abdul Jaffer, 48, of Gandhi Nagar at South Ukkadam was discovered useless at his residence on Saturday. He was residing in the home for the final 10 years alongside along with his spouse, who’s mentally-challenged. Since Jaffer was hooked on alcohol, his son and daughter had been staying with their grandmother, stated the police.
Neighbours contacted Jaffer’s son Sharuk Khan (26) on July 1 and informed him {that a} stench was emanating from his mother and father’ home. Mr. Khan visited the home and enquired his mom who reportedly informed him that his father was asleep and the foul scent might be from a useless rat. He left the home with out checking on his father, stated the police.
Neighbours contacted Mr. Khan once more on Saturday and complained of the stench. He visited the home round 1.30 p.m. and located his father mendacity useless. The physique was in decomposing state.
The Bazaar Road police rushed to the spot after receiving an alert and so they shifted the physique to the Coimbatore Medical Faculty Hospital morgue. The physique was handed over to the household after the autopsy on Sunday. The police suspect that Jaffer died at the least every week in the past. The reason for the demise could be identified after getting the autopsy report, stated a police officer.
