The announcement follows a proper request by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to Union Minister of Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
Responding positively, the Ministry issued official orders declaring Vijayawada an embarkation level for Haj pilgrims.
Because of this pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh will now not need to journey to different States to start their sacred journey, considerably lowering each journey pressure and related prices.
Welcoming the choice, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board and member of the State Haj Committee, expressed gratitude, and described the transfer as a “nice aid” for Muslim pilgrims.
“Reinstating the embarkation level in Vijayawada is a long-awaited and much-needed step. It permits our brothers and sisters to begin their Haj journey immediately from our State,” he stated.
Mr. Abdul Aziz added that the State Haj Committee, together with the Chief Minister, would work in direction of enhancing infrastructure and facilities on the Vijayawada embarkation level to raised serve the wants of the pilgrims within the coming years, a press launch stated.
