One terrorist has been neutralised after an encounter broke out between safety forces and terrorists within the Akhal space of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

The operation is ongoing and is being carried out collectively by the Particular Operations Group (SOG), the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Military, and the CRPF. 

“One terrorist has been neutralised by the safety forces up to now. Operation continues,” Indian Military stated on X. 

That is the second consecutive encounter within the Akhal space of Kulgam district, following the same operation that occurred on Friday.

“Encounter has began at Akhal space of district Kulgam. SOG, J-Okay Police, Military and CRPF on job,” Kashmir Zone police stated on Friday. 

On July 30, safety forces neutralised two terrorists in an encounter within the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Simply days earlier, on July 28, the Indian Military, in a joint operation named ‘Mahadev’ with the CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police, neutralised three terrorists concerned within the Pahalgam terror assault.

On April 22, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed 26 harmless civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam.
