Rajya Sabha Secretary Basic and Returning Officer PC Mody confirmed that out of 781 MPs, 767 solid their votes, recording a formidable turnout of 98.2%. Of those, 752 ballots had been legitimate whereas 15 had been invalid, setting the required majority for first-preference votes at 377.
Whereas the NDA had 427 MPs supporting Radhakrishnan on paper, 11 further lawmakers from the YSRCP prolonged their backing, leading to a complete 14 votes above expectations, a transfer that triggered hypothesis about cross-voting from the Opposition camp.
13 MPs selected to abstain from voting, together with seven from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), 4 from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), one from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), and one Unbiased member.
