The Union Ministry of Surroundings and Forests (MoEFs) has permitted an city forest mission on 38 acres of land beneath the Forest division at Veermalakunnu, a scenic hilltop in Kasaragod district, to boost its tourism potential.

The Veermalakunnu tourism mission can be developed in two elements. Whereas the Tourism division is engaged on over 9 acres handed over to it beneath the Kasaragod Improvement Package deal, the Forest division will implement ecotourism initiatives on its land via Forest Conservation Committees.
