The Kerala Excessive Courtroom has directed the State authorities to file an affidavit explaining the delay in issuing a notification constituting a monitoring committee to make sure the maintenance of Marine Drive within the metropolis.
The Excessive Courtroom had on April 7 ordered that the committee be constituted inside 4 weeks. A Bench of Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice V.M. Syam Kumar issued the directive whereas contemplating a contempt of courtroom plea by Renjith G. Thampy of Ernakulam. His counsel knowledgeable the courtroom that the federal government had now issued a notification on this regard, 5 months because the order was issued.
To this, the Excessive Courtroom stated the four-week deadline was not complied with by the federal government, nor was any request made looking for an extension. The contempt proceedings within the case can’t be dropped as a result of the federal government belatedly issued a notification, the courtroom stated and sought time-bound commitments to adjust to all of the instructions that it had issued.
