Bone-chilling temperatures greeted folks on Thursday (January 15, 2026) because the nationwide capital recorded its coldest morning of the season. Safdarjung, town’s main climate station, recorded its lowest January minimal since 2023 at 2.9°C.

The minimal temperature had dropped to 1.4°C on January 16, 2023.

Palam recorded a minimal temperature of two.3°C, whereas the mercury at Lodhi Street settled at 3.4°C. The Ridge station reported a low of 4.5°C, and Ayanagar logged 2.7°C.

The minimal temperature recorded at Palam was its lowest since 2010. The second lowest was recorded on January 7, 2013, when the mercury had dropped to 2.6°C.
