Tons of of devotees from throughout the State thronged the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on Monday to witness the sacred ‘Nijaroopa Darshanam’ of the presiding deity as a part of the annual ‘Chandanotsavam’.
Following the ‘Suprabhatha Seva’, the sandalwood paste protecting the deity was eliminated, a ritual carried out solely annually on this event. Hereditary trustee and Governor of Goa, P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, alongside along with his household, supplied silk garments to the deity at round 2.45 a.m. and had the primary ‘darshan’. Representing the State Authorities, Residence Minister V. Anitha offered ‘pattu vasthrams’ to the deity.
