Kolkata: Repolling is underway in 15 polling stations of South 24 Parganas district in West Bengal on Saturday, following instructions from the Election Fee of India (ECI) after stories of alleged tampering with digital voting machines (EVMs) in the course of the second part of Meeting elections held on April 29.
In line with the Fee, repolling is being carried out at 11 cubicles within the Magrahat Paschim Meeting constituency and 4 cubicles within the Diamond Harbour Meeting constituency in South 24 Parganas. In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal, the EC stated the repolling has been ordered primarily based on inputs from the state ballot equipment, with voting scheduled from 7 am to six pm.
