Oilers’ Duncan Keith out for Wednesday’s game vs. Coyotes

Edmonton Oilers veteran defenceman Duncan Keith won’t be in the lineup against the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday night.

Oilers coach Dave Tippett said Keith will miss the game and is day-to-day with an upper-body injury during media access before the game.

William Lagesson will replace Keith in the lineup.

Keith was forced out of Tuesday’s game against the Dallas Stars with an upper-body injury.

The team announced he would not return to the game during the second intermission. It’s unclear when or how Keith was injured.

Keith skated 10:37 against the Stars, the lowest total ice time among all Oilers defencemen after two periods.

The 38-year-old has one goal, five points and is minus-1 in 18 games this season.

The Oilers entered the Stars game already with a battered blue line, with both Darnell Nurse and Slater Koekkoek out multiple weeks with injuries.
