Teen kills mother for not allowing online gaming

Visakhapatnam: A teenager allegedly killed his mother for not allowing him to play online games. Police said the woman was found dead in a pool of blood at her residence under Malkapuram police station limits in Vizag city on Thursday evening.

The deceased was identified as Alka Singh (48), wife of an Indian Coast Guard employee. Though the police are yet to confirm the exact motive, they suspect that her elder son, Anmol Singh, might have murdered her following a heated argument over a laptop and online gaming.

Police believe Anmol, addicted to online games, stabbed his mother after she stopped him from playing. He then hid her body inside a room. The crime came to light when Alka Singh’s younger daughter returned from college and searched for her.
Her husband was on duty along the Odisha coast at the time of the incident. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. A knife was found inside a bag at the house.
