As per a TMZ report, the Santa Fe County Sheriff has not ruled out anything in the deaths involving the Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman, Betsy Arakawa and their dog. He also shared that his deputies have a search warrant in case the investigation takes a criminal turn.
“The deputies on Wednesday responded to the compound of Hackman and Arakawa after receiving a call, and they initially entered the house only to find the bodies of the couple and one of their 3 dogs — 2 others survived,” Adan was quoted by TMZ.
“It is customary during death investigations to seek a warrant on the assumption they may find evidence of a crime, which shows they’re following standard procedure,” the report stated.
Mendoza also shared that the gas company and fire department were also called to check for toxic fumes ‘that would endanger the deputies during their search’.
As per the sherrif, the bodies of the deceased had been there for “at least a day”, and he did not rule anything out. While no visible trauma was discovered, Adan told TMX that they could ‘have been victims of a double homicide, suicide, accidental death, or natural causes’.
