“Bilaspur-Manali-Leh New Line, falling partly in union territory of Ladakh, is recognized as strategic line by Ministry of Defence. Survey of Bilaspur-Manali-Leh new line venture (489 km) has been accomplished and Detailed Mission Report has been ready,” he stated.

“The anticipated price of the venture as per the Detailed Mission Report is Rs 1,31,000 crore,” he stated. Speaking concerning the earlier Srinagar-Kargil-Leh (480 km) rail venture, Vaishnaw said that the survey for it was carried out in 2016-17 and the anticipated price of the venture was Rs 55,896 crore.

“Nonetheless, on account of low site visitors projections, the venture couldn’t be taken ahead,” he stated.
