The Ministry of Exterior Affairs (MEA) on Friday confirmed that three Bangladeshi nationals killed in Tripura earlier this week have been armed smugglers who had illegally entered Indian territory and attacked native villagers. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal acknowledged that the Bangladeshi assailants additionally killed one villager throughout the incident.
