Cyclone Montha LIVE updates: First cyclonic storm more likely to hit A.P. coast on October 28


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu alerted all district collectors, superintendents of police, and different senior officers concerning the ‘Montha’ cyclone and held a teleconference with them.

“Because the Montha cyclone is predicted to severely affect the state on October 26, 27, 28, and 29, the division has issued a crimson alert, and officers should be vigilant,” Naidu mentioned in a press launch.

Noting that the cyclone’s sphere of affect may stretch from Srikakulam to Tirupati, the CM mentioned heavy rains of as much as 100 mm may lash the state, accompanied by gales gusting as much as 110 kmph.

Naidu directed officers to start preparations to avert lack of life and property. He instructed them to alert coastal residents to evacuate to safer places and to declare holidays for academic establishments if crucial.

He additionally requested authorities to observe water ranges in all reservoirs, launch water scientifically, and hold NDRF and SDRF groups on standby.
