Opera Legend Jubilant Sykes Lifeless; Son Held Following 911 Alert
Grammy-nominated classical and gospel singer Jubilant Sykes, 71, was killed at his Santa Monica residence after police responded to a 911 name reporting an assault in progress round 9:20 p.m. Monday. Officers entered the residence and located Sykes with “vital accidents,” authorities informed KTLA. His son, Micah Sykes, 31, was positioned inside the house and brought into custody with out incident. Police stated the case can be booked as suspected murder and reviewed by prosecutors. A Los Angeles native, Sykes rose from a baby soprano to an internationally acclaimed performer, showing on the Met, Carnegie Corridor, the Kennedy Middle, the Barbican, the Apollo, and extra, with a Grammy-nominated function in Bernstein’s Mass amongst his defining achievements.
