A 12-year NYPD officer died whereas he was deployed in Kuwait supporting Operation Epic Fury, officers mentioned Saturday.
Officer Sorffly Davius died on Friday after he suffered a “medical episode,” the NYPD mentioned in a post on X.
“At this time, our metropolis mourns the lack of Police Officer Sorffly Davius, who handed away on Friday following a medical episode whereas deployed to Kuwait with the forty second Infantry Division of the U.S. Military Nationwide Guard,” Mayor Mamdani and NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch mentioned in a joint assertion.
Davius joined the NYPD in 2014, when he was assigned to the 79th Precinct in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant.
He served within the forty second Infantry Division within the U.S. Military Nationwide Guard, rising to the rank of main, cops mentioned.
His explanation for loss of life was not instantly supplied.
“Devastated by the lack of Main Davius, a real Citizen Soldier, devoted husband, and father,” New York Governor Kathy Hochul said on X. “I’ve personally conveyed my condolences to his spouse and am conserving his family members in my ideas. We’re persevering with to hope for the security of all who shield us, at residence and overseas.”
Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. army effort to topple Iran’s regime by taking out its management and crippling its army installations, kicked off with an aerial bombing assault on Feb. 28. Israel is conducting a parallel army marketing campaign in opposition to Iran referred to as Operation Roaring Lion.
