In East Tambaram, Chitlapakkam and Thiruneermalai, posters are up, urging voters to maintain their conscience and palms clear. As half of what’s referred to as “My Vote Is Not For Sale” marketing campaign, Chitlapakkam Rising volunteers went from door to door in Chitlapakkam and surrounding areas and enjoined voters to refuse cash supplied for votes and likewise reject the candidates responsible of this impropriety.
Sunil Jayaram, a core volunteer at Chitlapakkam Rising, says the group requested the voters to vote for candidates solely on the premise of their credentials.
