R. Sreelekha, the previous DGP and BJP councillor for Sasthamangalam ward in Thiruvananthapuram Company, has been named because the fifth accused within the case pertaining to the march by BJP to Vattiyoorkavu police station, which grew to become controversial following the derogatory slogans that have been raised towards the police.

BJP’s ladies Company councillors had led the march to Vattiyoorkavu police station to protest towards the alleged police brutality and custodial assault on BJP employees, who had been arrested throughout a conflict between BJP and CPI(M) employees at Nettayam earlier. The ladies councillors have been demanding motion towards the law enforcement officials who the BJP mentioned have been answerable for the incident
