The Supreme Courtroom on Monday sought a report from the Karnataka authorities on a plea by Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, in custody within the 2024 Renukaswamy homicide case, alleging denial of primary facilities obtainable to undertrial prisoners. 

A Bench of Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan directed the State to submit its report inside every week. “We might additionally prefer to know from the State whether or not the essential facilities which the undertrial prisoner is entitled to are being supplied to the petitioner or not.
