Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday (Might 3, 2026) attacked the Sangh Parivar over press freedom, saying its message is obvious that impartial journalism will likely be punished, and compliance rewarded.

Calling for deep introspection by all stakeholders on the event of World Press Freedom Day, Mr. Kharge, in a publish on X, alleged that sections of the media have been diminished to echoing the ruling institution, whereas those that persist in asking questions are “focused relentlessly”.
