West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday (April 7,2026) alleged that names of individuals belonging to particular communities had been deleted from the post-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter rolls within the State.

Addressing a rally at Chakdaha in Nadia district, Ms. Banerjee stated the Trinamool Congress (TMC) will stand by these whose names had been excluded from the voter rolls, following the SIR train.

In response to newest Election Fee information, almost 91 lakh voters have been deleted from the electoral rolls in West Bengal after the SIR course of.

Ms. Banerjee claimed that following her intervention in the Supreme Court, round 32 lakh names out of almost 60 lakh instances beneath ‘adjudication’ had been restored.

“Names had been being faraway from official data by focusing on particular communities,” the CM alleged.

Elections to the 294-member West Bengal Meeting will probably be held in two phases – on April 23 and April 29. Votes will probably be counted on Might 4.
