A 63-year-old man allegedly killed his spouse and attacked his son earlier than reportedly dying by suicide at Manjapetty close to Perumbavoor within the early hours of Friday. The deceased lady was recognized as Ambika. Her husband Chandran Plavinparambil was later discovered lifeless in a close-by vacant plot.

Chandran allegedly attacked Ambika and their son Sanal, 38, an autorickshaw driver, with a machete after they questioned his alleged relationship with different girls. Ambika suffered extreme accidents to the neck and died on the spot, whereas Sanal sustained a number of accidents whereas attempting to cease the assault. The police who reached the spot after being alerted by locals shifted him to the Authorities Medical Faculty Hospital, Kalamassery.

The Perumbavoor police have registered a case.
